Civil Engineer
The Civil Engineer will provide technical expertise in the design and coordination of complex and
sophisticated projects involving the construction, renovation, and repair of various facilities. This
position will monitor and track the progress of designated projects and provide routine reports of
accomplishments to appropriate officials and offices.
Responsibilities:
- Provide civil or structural engineering technical advice and services on all matters pertaining to facilities maintenance and rehabilitation program in planning, design and construction.
- Manage assigned projects and ensure compliance with Health and Safety, construction codes and other federal requirements.
- Formulate and evaluate project plans to include cultural, socio-economic, value and risk management, technical considerations, aesthetics, engineering and cost considerations.
- Review proposed sites for a project and evaluate adequacy with regard to topography, subsurface conditions, utilities and other factors.
- Manage the development and review of construction documents for assigned projects and provide technical assistance to others for civil and structural systems, materials and specifications.
- Manage the technical portion of design, construction contracts, administration of contracts with architect-engineer firms.
- Meet with all stakeholders to promote projects, describe impacts and ensure adherence to schedules and designs.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer
- 5 years experience as a Civil Engineer in a, Engineering Consulting Company.
- Knowledge of fundamental civil engineering concepts, principles and practices
- Extensive experience handling mechanical engineering renovation projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge in site planning, building design and construction means, methods and codes.
- Extensive knowledge of scheduling, material and labor cost estimating sufficient to evaluate compliance environmental health, safety and protection requirements.
- Able to use computer software programs such as MS Office and CADD
- With a valid driver’s license
